An importact lesson learned
If you're in a Lowes or Home Depot, and you feel like getting a pickaxe (still no waiting period!) make sure you put it in a cart. If you just walk around the store carrying it people will tend to shy away.

Hey, I've whiled away many a saturday morning walking around various chainstores with a pickax. I've found the slavering grin to be more effective than the scowl.
