I am not so sure about this. Antisemitism was deep ingrained in Germany (and Europe) long before Hitler. Hitler added 21st century industrialization to the homicidal violence that occasional broke out against jews - he didn't invent it - he grew up in it and "refined/improved" it.
True. It did bring to mind Eric Hoffer's adage of "You can have a religion without a God, but not without a devil". Come to think of it, I probably should have put that in the blog post.

I love that quote.
Hoffer is one of those grand visionary thinkers that few know about. If you haven't read his classic, the True Believer you really should.
I hadn't, so I just now ordered it from amazon.com.
You'll have to let me know what you think. It was a worldview changing book for me.
